New Executive Director (Latest News) |
|
 |
|
|
We have been informed by our Executive Director, Ingeborg Steinholt that she and her family unfortunately are leaving Thailand to take up new challenges in the Philippines. We are saddened by these news, since Ingeborg has been instrumental in building up the new Chamber office with new and efficient administrative systems, and the time to reap benefits from this work had just started. In addition Ingeborg has been a great support to Karine Slørdahl, our Business Review Editor.
Following a decision at a Board Meeting last month, the Board gave Ingeborg and me the authority to find a replacement for Ingeborg. Through a very efficient recruitment process, we have already found a new Executive Director. The overlapping between Ingeborg and her successor has already started, and it thus gives me great pleasure to announce that Vibeke Eidsaae Corneliussen, 38 , has been appointed Executive Director of the Thai-Norwegian Chamber of Commerce with effect from 1 June 2009.
Vibeke is a Civil Engineer within Computer Science with a broad consulting background. She holds a Master of Management from BI in Norway and has been working as Senior Adviser in various consulting companies such as Acando, daVinci and Accenture.
Vibeke is married to Snorre Corneliussen who works at Telenor Asia and the couple has five year old twin boys, Christopher and Henrik. The family recently moved to Thailand from Norway.
We wish Vibeke a warm welcome to the Thai-Norwegian Chamber of Commerce and wish her all the best in her new position. At the same time we send Ingeborg our warmest thanks for a job well done. We also wish Ingeborg and her family the best of luck in their new homeland
Axel Blom
President
Thai-Norwegian Chamber of Commerce

The Norwegian Ministry of Foreign Affairs: “Say no to corruption – it pays!”. |
|
Corruption has been a central theme in Thailand’s democratisation process, and in this connection we thought it would be appropriate to highlight the official Norwegian stand on the social evils of corruption.
Norway has a policy of combating corruption at both the national and international level. The Government and the private sector share the responsibility for enforcing a zero tolerance policy towards corruption, and for building open and responsible institutions. Clarity, transparency and trustworthiness are important constituents of Norway’s reputation. Read further on consequences of corruption in the enclosed brochure issued by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. |
