Visit to Norwegian Seafood Council’s booth at ThaiFex – World of Food, Asia

Visit to Norwegian Seafood Council’s booth at ThaiFex – World of Food, AsiaThaiFex is one of the largest food trade shows in the region, with representatives from 40 different countries and 55,000 visitors in 2017. This year, ThaiFlex took place at IMPACT Exhibition and Convention Center, close to Muang Thong Thani, and was the largest fair of its kind in Thailand.

The fair attracts industry actors from all over the region and is a great venue for meeting existing clients or establishing new business relationships. The feedback from the Norwegian exporters that participated last year was very positive, and the fair had a very high level of activity. This year’s Norwegian seafood stand was completely generic and built of Norwegian origin. Participating companies got their names and logos visible on the stand, and they had the opportunity to share their own marketing material, such as brochures. However, there was no opportunity to exhibit own products or to distribute tastings. In addition, Norwegian exporters were welcome to use the facilities on the stand and also used it as a meeting place.

This year, 13 different Norwegian seafood exporters were represented at ThaiFex, including the Norwegian Seafood Council (NSC), a premium member of the Thai-Norwegian Chamber of Commerce. The Norwegian Seafood Council’s stand was located in the seafood section of the “World of Food Asia” at IMPACT Challenger. Visitors got to see Norwegian Chef Geir Skeie and winner of Bocuse d’Or 2009 in action as well as Norwegian Seafood Council’s Singaporean seafood specialist chef Jimmy Chok and Thai celebrity chef “Bas” Wattanasak Changkeb, all preparing assorted dishes for visitors to taste.

ThaiFex was held from Tuesday, 29 May to Saturday, 2 June 2018, with the last day being open to the general public. For more information, please visit the website Norway Connect.
