Norwegian Chamber Sucessfully Hosts Thailand’s Joint Foreign Chamber of Commerce

Thai-Norwegian Chamber of Commerce (TNCC) hosted Thailand’s Joint Foreign Chambers of Commerce‘s President Council (JFCCT) luncheon at the Siam Kempinski Hotel on 16 May 2018. A Norwegian Seafood menu was served with support from the Siam Kempinski Hotel.

The Joint Foreign Chambers of Commerce works with advocacy on behalf of 33 foreign Chambers of Commerce in Thailand through frequent meetings and contacts with Thai Government organisations and other important stakeholders in the Kingdom.

Mr Vegard Holmelid, Norway’s Deputy Ambassador to Thailand, welcomed the guests and introduced Norway and the more than 100 years of diplomatic relations between the two kingdoms. With Norway’s strong environmental focus, Mr Svein Rasmussen, CEO of Starboard, one of the premium members of the Norwegian Chamber, was invited to present the company’s environmental work in reducing plastic waste in the waters of Thailand.

This was also the meeting where the President’s Council reelected Mr Stanley Kang as JFCCT Chairman for another two-year period, 2018-2020. The Thai-Norwegian Chamber of Commerce wishes to congratulate Mr Kang on the election. In addition to the Chairman, JFCCT is led by two Vice Chairs, one of which, Ms Vibeke Leirvåg, is from the Thai-Norwegian Chamber of Commerce.

We also wish to thank the Joint Foreign Chambers of Commerce for their arduous work on behalf of the foreign business community in Thailand, an important task which should not be overlooked.
