Trade Figures for Jan-April 2025 Released by Norway ConnectTrade Figures for Jan-April 2025 Released by Norway Connect

Norway Connect, our premium member, has shared the 2025 trade statistics summary between Norway and Thailand, presenting figures for the period January–April 2025. Exports from Norway rose to NOK 1.98 billion (+2.1% year-on-year) compared to the same period in 2024, while imports from Thailand reached NOK 1.60 billion (+8.4% year-on-year). Seafood continues to dominate Norway’s exports to Thailand, accounting for over half of the total export value. Fertilisers and chemicals also remain important categories. On the import side, Thailand’s exports to Norway consist mainly of food, live animals, and miscellaneous manufactured articles.

The big change this year is that there so far have been no energy modules going from Aibel’s Eastern Seaboard plants to Norway, but they may come later this year. Looking at tourism to Norway, it’s also good to see that number of Thai room nights in Norway continue to improve. March again was a record month with above 9,000 room nights (against 5,000 in 2024). Northern continues to be one of the key destinations for Thai travellers, contributing strongly to the overall growth in room nights across the country.

Export from Norway for 2025 is split like this:

  • Seafood 60%           NOK 1.188 billion
  • Fertilisers 16%        NOK 316.8 million
  • Other goods 24%    NOK 475.2 million
  • Total                         NOK 1.98 Billion (=+2.1%) vs export from Thailand NOK 1.60 Billion (=+8.4%)
