Norway Connectour premium member, has shared the 2025 trade statistics summary between Norway and Thailand, presenting figures for the period January–June 2025, comparing figures across previous years (2019–2024). Exports from Norway to Thailand stood at NOK 2.89 billion, showing a slight decrease of -2.9% year-on-year, while imports from Thailand rose to NOK 3.97 billion, an increase of +16.2%. Seafood exports to Thailand are up by 13% as compared to the same period last year, while fertilisers are down by 21%. In June they finally received the figure for Aibel’s Hornsea 3 EPCI, so now the trade balance is back in Thailand’s favour. That one module was NOK 1.4 billion alone and affects the figures positively this year.

Looking at tourism to Norway, it’s also good to see that number of Thai room nights in Norway continue to improve. April again was the best month ever with almost 10,400 room nights (against 5,000 in 2024). Room nights are now 84% over last year. Northern Norway is the region that continues to show the biggest increase with 87% over 2024 and 132% above the month of April 2024.

Export from Norway for 2025 is split like this:

  • Seafood 57%            NOK 1,652 million
  • Fertilisers 21%          NOK 606 million
  • Other goods 22%      NOK 634 million
  • Total                          NOK 2,980 million (=-3%) vs export from Thailand NOK 3,410 million (=+16%)
