Trade Figures for Jan-Aug 2025 Released by Norway Connect

Norway Connect, our premium member, has shared the 2025 trade statistics summary between Norway and Thailand, presenting figures for the period January–August 2025. We have also included the full years 2019–2024 for comparative purposes. Exports from Norway to Thailand reached NOK 3,655 million for January–August 2025, slightly down (-2%) compared to the same period in 2024, while imports from Thailand rose to NOK 4,957 million (+22% year-on-year). Seafood continues to dominate Norway’s exports, accounting for 59% of the total value, followed by fertilisers at 17% and other goods at 24%. On the import side, Thailand’s exports to Norway remain strong, supported this year by the Aibel Hornsea 3 module, which alone contributed NOK 1.4 billion.

On the tourism side, the number of Thai room nights in Norway continues to improve strongly. April was the best month ever, with almost 10,400 room nights (compared to 5,000 in 2024). Overall, room nights are now 68% higher than last year. Northern Norway remains the region with the strongest growth, up 82% compared to 2024 and an impressive 132% above April 2024 levels.

Exports from Norway to Thailand for Jan–Aug 2025 are split as follows:
  •  Seafood 59%           NOK 2,162 million
  • Fertilisers 17%          NOK 627 million
  • Other goods 24%      NOK 865 million
  • Total                           NOK 3,655 million (=-2%) vs export from Thailand NOK 4,957 million (=+22%)
