NSC Joins Thailand’s Premium Salmon Supply Chain Launch
NSC joins MOWI ASA and CP AXTRA Launch Thailand’s First Fully Integrated Premium Salmon Supply Chain
Norwegian Seafood Council, our premium member, was joined by Ms. Åshild Nakken, Director for Southeast Asia, together with H.E. Mrs. Astrid Emilie Helle, Norwegian Ambassador to Thailand, at the launch of Thailand’s first fully integrated premium salmon supply chain by MOWI ASA and CP AXTRA.

Bangkok, 29 January 2026 – The Norwegian Seafood Council (NSC) shared with us the news that MOWI ASA, the world’s largest producer of premium salmon, led by Mr. Charlie Wu, Managing Director for Asia-Pacific (first from left), has formed a strategic partnership with CP AXTRA, a leading wholesale and retail business in Asia operating under the Makro and Lotus’s brands, led by Mr. Dhanin Chearavanont, Chief Executive Officer of the Wholesale Business Group (fourth from left). The two companies have launched Thailand’s first fully integrated premium salmon supply chain, delivering world-class seafood directly from the cold and clean waters of Norway to Thai consumers.
Norway’s cold climate and long coastline provide ideal conditions for farming premium salmon with a fresh taste and firm texture. Combined with CP AXTRA’s global logistics technology, the supply chain enables real-time product tracking, efficient operations, and delivery within one day.
Salmon products under the Aro Gold x MOWI brand include both Ready-to-Cook and Ready-to-Eat options. These products meet the needs of professional chefs, food business operators, and general consumers. They are available nationwide at Makro stores and through the Makro PRO online platform.
