Norway Connect, our premium member, has released updated trade figures Norway-Thailand for the first quarter of 2026 were released by SSB on 15 April 2026 with tourism figures released on 7 May 2026.

Seafood exports to Thailand were up by 13% in value (but 24% in fresh salmonids volume) as compared to the same period last year, while fertilisers are down by 9%.

Looking at tourism to Norway, the number of Thai room nights in Norway have improved a lot. March 2026 was the best month ever with 10,720 room nights, even exceeding October 2025 which had 10,600 room nights.

Norway Connect has listed the main commodities in the trade flow.

Thailand:

  • Seafood exports from Norway are up 14% as compared to same period in 2025
  • Fertiliser exports from Norway are down 9% as compared to same period in 2025
  • Exports of metal structures was dormant, but is expected to take place in batches during 2026

Export from Norway for 2026/Q1 is split like this:

  • Seafood 70%                  NOK 1,034 million
  • Fertilisers 18%              NOK 265 million
  • Other goods 12%           NOK 169 million
  • Total export                    NOK 1,468 million
  • Total import                    NOK 1,543 million
