Connecting Norwegian and Thai Food Supplement Industries at the Welcome Reception 2025
On 16 September 2025, the Thai-Norwegian Chamber of Commerce and the Royal Norwegian Embassy in Bangkok held an exclusive event “Welcome Reception – Bridging the Norwegian and Thai Food Supplement Communities” at the Norwegian Ambassador’s Residence. This event took place just before Vitafoods Asia 2025, which is held from 17 to 19 September 2025 at the Queen Sirikit National Convention Centre in Bangkok. The reception brought together Norwegian companies and key members of Thailand’s food supplement industry for an evening of networking and idea sharing.
The Welcome Reception also aimed to foster opportunities for networking with the Thai nutraceutical communities and exchanging insights about market trends. The event was highly successful, with over 50 participants attending and enjoying the experience they gained.
The event began with welcoming remarks by H.E. Ambassador Mrs. Astrid Emilie Helle, followed by Mr. Axel Blom, President of the Thai-Norwegian Chamber of Commerce. Guests also heard from Ms. Waliga Snongkhun, Food and Drug Officer, Food Division at the Thailand Food and Drug Administration, who delivered a keynote presentation on Thailand’s regulatory requirements for food supplements — From product registration to marketing compliance.
The Norwegian companies presented at the event included Epax, GC Rieber, Noromega, SalmoFer by Leroy Seafood, and Zooca, each renowned for their expertise in omega-3 and marine-based ingredients. Their participation provided a valuable opportunity to introduce innovative products and solutions to Thai partners and industry stakeholders.
The reception successfully fostered meaningful dialogue and created a platform for building connections between Norwegian suppliers, Thai distributors, Thai Authority, and industry professionals, paving the way for stronger collaboration in the years ahead.
