Dogger Bank A Sail Away Celebration by Aibel Thailand
On Monday, 9th May 2022, Aibel Thailand, our premium member, proudly hosted Dogger Bank A Sail Away Celebration at Aibel’s premises in Laem Chabang, Chonburi.
Aibel Thailand embarked on its journey in the ongoing energy transition with the construction of the Dogger Bank A offshore wind converter platform in 2020. Dogger Bank is an isolated sandbank within the central to southern North Sea spanning UK, German, Danish and Dutch waters. The Dogger Bank A platform is the first of three platforms for the Dogger Bank Offshore Wind Farm, the world’s largest of its kind, which is expected to produce energy to power 6 million UK homes. The platform is now completed at the yard in Laem Chabang. Dogger Bank A platform has a lean design, with a steel jacket structure and no living quarter or helideck. It will soon set off for Norway to be outfitted with Hitachi’s latest generation HVDC converter technology, before final completion and commissioning. This project is a major green milestone for Aibel Thailand.
