On Wednesday, 19 November 2025, the President of the Thai-Norwegian Chamber of Commerce (TNCC), Mr Axel Blom, participated in a high-level engagement: the Joint Foreign Chambers of Commerce in Thailand (JFCCT) Courtesy Visit to the Prime Minister, H.E. Mr Anutin Charnvirakul, held at Government House. This significant engagement underscored the vital role of foreign business coalitions in shaping Thailand’s national economic agenda.

The primary objective of the visit was to foster constructive dialogue regarding public–private sector cooperation, specifically aimed at establishing policy frameworks that will drive sustainable economic growth in the Kingdom. The JFCCT, acting as the unified voice for a significant portion of the foreign business community, presented a detailed document outlining their strategic priorities.

Six Strategic Recommendations for Growth

The delegation, led by Chairwoman, Ms. Vibeke Lyssand Leirvåg, proposed six strategic recommendations designed to immediately strengthen Thailand’s long-term competitive position. These proposals address critical structural challenges facing international investors and are intended to provide actionable policy guidance.

  • Advancing Integrated Digital Government Services: Enhancing the efficiency and accessibility of bureaucratic processes through comprehensive digitalisation.
  • Developing Future-Ready Skills: Addressing the talent gap by promoting workforce upskilling and educational reforms necessary for a knowledge-based economy.
  • Accelerating Free Trade Agreements (FTAs) and OECD Accession: Enhancing Thailand’s global market access and regulatory alignment by fast-tracking key international agreements.
  • Enhancing National Competitiveness: Broad initiatives to simplify business operations and reduce operational costs.
  • Reinforcing SMEs: Strengthening the capacity of Small and Medium Enterprises (SMEs) to participate effectively in global trade.
  • Promoting Comprehensive Sustainable Development: Integrating ESG (Environmental, Social, and Governance) principles into national policy to ensure responsible growth.

Government Commitment to International Standards

The submission of these proposals was accompanied by a clear message: that accelerating these policy actions and advancing structural reforms are crucial for supporting long-term business continuity and bolstering Thailand’s competitive standing in the ASEAN region.

The Prime Minister welcomed the proposals and formally acknowledged the immense value foreign investors bring to the national economy. In his address, he formally reaffirmed the government’s unwavering commitment to boosting national competitiveness across all sectors. He further emphasised the administration’s strategic focus on aligning Thailand’s business environment with international standards, signalling a clear dedication to creating a more predictable and transparent operating landscape for all global enterprises.
