Navigating International Arbitration: Preventing & Resolving Disputes in Construction & Infrastructure – Mahanakorn Partners Group
The Thai-Norwegian Chamber of Commerce was pleased to attend an executive briefing hosted by Mahanakorn Partners Group (MPG), one of our event sponsors this year, on “Navigating International Arbitration: Preventing & Resolving Disputes in Construction & Infrastructure”. The event took place on Wednesday, 15 October 2025, at Kian Gwan House in Bangkok. Organised in collaboration with the Singapore International Arbitration Centre (SIAC), the session was designed as a business-orientated dialogue rather than a purely legal workshop. The event brought together senior leaders, developers, contractors, legal practitioners, and project stakeholders to discuss how arbitration and other dispute resolution mechanisms can help manage risks and enhance efficiency in the construction and infrastructure sectors across ASEAN.
Speakers provided an overview of current market pressures and dispute trends, including cost escalation, contract variations, payment defaults, and termination issues. They also looked at how multi-tiered dispute resolution clauses and hybrid mechanisms work, highlighting that negotiation and mediation can work alongside arbitration to produce better results.
We extend our sincere appreciation to Mahanakorn Partners Group for hosting an insightful and well-organised session that contributed to knowledge sharing within our business community. For those interested in exploring the topics further, MPG has shared the following materials:
