It’s Norwegian Constitution Day
The Thai-Norwegian Chamber of Commerce warmly invites all Norwegians and friends of Norway to join in celebrating Norwegian Constitutional Day on 17 May. This year, we are pleased to feature a special message from our Ambassador, H.E. Mrs. Astrid Emilie Helle, in honour of the occasion.
“On 17 May Norwegians everywhere celebrate our freedom and our constitution of 1814. We celebrate democracy, human rights and the rule of law. We take pride in our welfare state where income distribution and gender equality have brought social stability and economic prosperity.
Norway-Thailand bilateral relations have been flourishing for more than 120 years. The cornerstones are trade and investment, people to people contact, respect for international laws and the United Nations Charter. Our partnership is strengthening in every dimension.
The Free Trade Agreement between Thailand and the European Free Trade Association (EFTA) was signed in January 2025 and Norway has ratified it. We look forward to the FTA entering into force once is it also ratified by Thailand. Norway supports Thailand’s accession to membership of the OECD, as it will contribute to enhance Thailand’s competitiveness.
