Traditionally, Aibel’s exports to Norway have been significant and they have constituted the largest export items from Thailand to Norway. This year, figures have so far been minimal, but we instead have seen some strange items appearing in the statistics: In May 2026, we have the largest export item ever recorded from Thailand Norway of some NOK 4.4 billion. It is shown in the statistics under SITC code 75 which is office machines. Another item appears in SITC code 74 in August of some NOK 1.4 billion. We are investigating what these are, for now we have no information.
Looking at tourism to Norway, the number of Thai room nights in Norway have improved a lot over the last five years from 53,000 room nights in 2019, which was a record year, to 70,000 in 2025. While April and October traditionally have been the most popular months with more than 10,000 room nights, this year we have seen a slight drop although March increased to 10,700 room nights while April fell to 8,400 room nights. This shift could be influenced by the fact that the tourists rather go to Northern Norway during the Aurora season.

- Seafood 62% NOK 2,302 million
- Fertilisers 25% NOK 948 million
- Other goods 13% NOK 481 million
