Norway Connect, our premium member, has shared the 2025 trade statistics summary between Norway and Thailand, presenting figures for the period January–October 2025. Data covering the entire 2019–2024 period is also provided for comparative purposes.

Exports from Norway to Thailand reached NOK 4,700 million for January–October 2025, slightly down (-0.9%) compared to the same period in 2024, while imports from Thailand rose to NOK 6,070 million (+17.4% year-on-year). Seafood exports to Thailand are up by 15% in value (but 36% in fresh salmonids volume) as compared to the same period last year, while fertilisers are down by 25%. Aibel’s exports are up by 27%.

Looking at tourism to Norway, the number of Thai room nights in Norway continue to improve. April was the best month ever with almost 10,400 room nights (against 5,000 in 2024) and expecting October to be even better. Room nights are now 68% over last year. Northern Norway is the region that continues to show the biggest increase with 80% over 2024 and 132% above the month of April 2024.

Export from Norway for Jan-Oct 2025 is split like this:

  • Seafood 60% NOK 2,823 million
  • Fertilisers 18% NOK 825 million
  • Other goods 23% NOK 974 million
  • Total NOK 4,704 million (=-1%) vs export from Thailand NOK 6,067 million (=+17%)
