Premium Member Luncheon 2025 hosted by H.E. Ambassador Mrs Astrid Emilie Helle

On 5 June 2025, H.E. Ambassador Mrs Astrid Emilie Helle, the Norwegian Ambassador to Thailand and Cambodia, hosted an exclusive luncheon for the Premium Members of the Thai-Norwegian Chamber of Commerce (TNCC) at the Ambassador’s residence in Bangkok. This special occasion provided the premium members, who form the core of the Norwegian business community in Thailand, with an excellent opportunity to engage directly with the Ambassador, introduce their businesses, and raise issues and concerns relevant to operating in the Thai market. The event also served to strengthen the professional network among TNCC Premium Members.

The programme commenced with registration and networking, followed by a group photo to commemorate the occasion. H.E. Ambassador Mrs Astrid Emilie Helle then delivered her welcome remarks, reaffirming Norway’s commitment to fostering strong bilateral ties and economic cooperation. Mr Axel Blom, the President of the Thai-Norwegian Chamber of Commerce, followed with opening remarks and a brief introduction of each participating Norwegian company. We are honoured to have a keynote presentation titled “The Impact of the U.S. Tariffs on the Thai Economy”, delivered by Dr Kirida Bhaopichitr, Research Director for International Economics and Development Policy, and Director of the TDRI Economic Intelligence Service (TDRI EIS). Dr Kirida provided a comprehensive overview of how shifting global trade policies could affect Thailand’s economy, particularly in terms of exports and investment dynamics. It was a very informative session and the guests learnt quite a lot from each other in terms of company activities, achievements, challenges and concerns.

After the presentation, guests enjoyed a luncheon in a relaxed setting, with further opportunities for dialogue over the lunch and a Q&A session. The event concluded with thanks extended to all participants and supporters. As a member organisation, the Chamber does its best to facilitate the members and improve business conditions and opportunities for them.
