Starboard and Thai-Norwegian Chamber Members unite for World Ocean Day Cleanup

In celebration of World Cleanup Day 2026, Starboard, one of our premium members, in collaboration with Trash Hero Bangkok, hosted the Paddle & Clean Up event at Starboard’s HQ at Taco Lake on Sunday, 20 September 2026, led by Svein Rasmussen.

Members, volunteers, business professionals, and environmental advocates joined forces—some taking to the waterways on stand-up paddleboards, while others cleaned surrounding streets and land areas.

The event highlighted the power of collective action in creating a cleaner, more sustainable community, while also showcasing Starboard’s ongoing commitment to sustainability through its Blue Impact Programme, supporting plastic collection, livelihoods, and environmental education.

Norway has long been recognised as a global leader in sustainability, with forward-looking policies, active citizen engagement, and a strong commitment to protecting the environment. This cleanup reflects those shared values, offering everyone the chance to contribute to a cleaner, healthier planet.

This inspiring community event united over 90 volunteers across both the walking cleanup team and the stand-up paddleboard team, who showed incredible dedication and teamwork. In just two hours, together they collected and sorted 210kg kilograms of waste, consisting of about 170 kg general waste, as well as hard plastics (25 kg), foam (8 kg), glass bottles (5 kg), and cans (2 kg). The collective effort served as a powerful reminder of what can be achieved when we act with purpose.
