Norway Connect, our premium member, has shared the 2025 trade statistics summary between Norway and Thailand, presenting figures for the period January–September 2025. We have also included the full years 2019–2024 for comparative reasons.

Exports from Norway to Thailand reached NOK 4,090 million for January–September 2025, slightly down (-2%) compared to the same period in 2024, while imports from Thailand rose to NOK 5,429 million (+9% year-on-year). Seafood continues to dominate Norway’s exports, up by 16% in valie (but 37% in fresh salmonids volume) as compared to the same period last year, while fertilisers are down by 31%. Aibel’s exports is up by 22%.

Looking at tourism to Norway, the number of Thai room nights in Norway continue to improve. April was the best month ever with almost 10,400 room nights (against 5,000 in 2024) and we are expecting October to be even better. Room nights are now 68% over last year. Northern Norway is the region that continues to show the biggest increase with 80% over 2024 and 132% above the month of April 2024.

Export from Norway for Jan-Sep 2025 is split like this:

  • Seafood 61%             NOK 2,484 million
  • Fertilisers 15%          NOK 632 million
  • Other goods 24%     NOK 974 million
  • Total                           NOK 4,090 million (=-2%) vs export from Thailand NOK 5,429 million (=+9%)
