Counting Down to World Cleanup Day 2021
Global waste has become a major issue in all countries. To raise awareness and to tackle this problem, the World Cleanup Day was established. The aim is to encourage stakeholders who share the vision of a waste-free world and those that together believe that we can rid the world of waste. Through corporation with Trash Hero, a global volunteer movement, we believe that we together can overcome some of the trash problems.
Since 2019, Thai-Norwegian Chamber of Commerce and the Royal Norwegian Embassy in Bangkok has joined hands with Starboard, one of our premium members, and Trash Hero Bangkok to collect trash in connection with the World Cleanup Day initiative always falling on the third Saturday of September.
Trash Hero Bangkok and teams regularly organised trash campaigns by gathering members to collect trash in local areas around Bangkok. However, due to the COVID-19 pandemic, this year will be different. But that doesn’t mean we can’t all make a positive difference to our environment!
This year, on World Clean up day, Saturday, 18 September 2021, we would like to encourage you to join hands and do the following;
- Collect trash in your local area
- Take a photo of the trash, pin the location and estimate the weight of the trash you have collected.
- Post a picture of your cleanup together on World Cleanup Day 18 September 2021 using the hashtags #WorldCleanupDay2021 #trashherobkk
Only together can we make our world clean again. Please join our campaign and make the world a cleaner place for future generations.
